Chen Scoops a Monster from Tang

• Level 21: 80,000-160,000, 160,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, Danny Tang and James Chen were heads-up in a pot with around 1,400,000 in the middle. Tang checked from the big blind and Chen slid out a bet of 1,500,000. Tang thought for a minute before making the call.

The {3-Hearts} completed the board and Tang checked again. Chen opted to check it back and Tang turned over {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for two pair. Chen showed {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for trip eights and raked in the pot.

Schulman Makes a Wheel

• Level 21: 80,000-160,000, 160,000 ante

Nick Schulman pushed all in for 2,000,000 in the hijack and Keith Tilston looked him up from the big blind.

Nick Schulman: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Keith Tilston: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Tilston took the lead on the {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} but Schulman also picked up a straight draw. Schulman wiggled the {4-Spades}, hoping that would be the key card for him to come from behind. The {10-Spades} on the turn also gave him a flush draw and the {2-Hearts} on the river made Schulman a straight to double up.

• Level 21: 80,000-160,000, 160,000 ante

Dominik Nitsche: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Brandon Adams: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Nitsche was particularly looking to spike an ace but the flop of {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs} gave him a flush draw as well. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and the river brought the {5-Clubs}. Nitsche made his flush and scored a double up through Adams.

• Level 20: 60,000-120,000, 120,000 ante
Thomas Boivin
Thomas Boivin

Thomas Boivin raised to 1,200,000 in middle position and Igor Kurganov announced all in on the button. The action folded back to Boivin who quickly called off his last 500,000 chips. Once the action at the other table was complete, the cards were on their backs.

Igor Kurganov: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Thomas Boivin: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Kurganov was in a dominating position heading to the {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop. Boivin picked up some chop outs but the {k-Hearts} on the turn would spell an end to his run. The {10-Spades} on the river was just a formality and Boivin became the bubble boy. The remaining 15 players are all guaranteed at least $156,316.

Kurganov Picks Off a Bluff from Miranda

• Level 20: 60,000-120,000, 120,000 ante

A board of {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} was spread across the felt with the two blinds remaining in the hand. Steven Miranda led out for 450,000 from the small blind into a pot that already had around 700,000 in the middle. Igor Kurganov called from the big blind and the {a-Diamonds} paired the board on the river.

Miranda instantly splashed in a bet of 775,000 and Kurganov had a decision to make. He counted out the chips to call while he thought about what to do. Kurganov eventually made the call and Miranda tabled {j-Hearts}{3-Spades} in frustration. Kurganov showed {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and claimed the pot to soar over 12 million chips.
