Ivo Donev limped from the small blind and Alan Sternberg checked in the big.

The flop saw Donev check and Sternberg potted for 50,000. Donev called.

They continued to the turn where Donev checked, Sternberg potted for 150,000, and Donev called.

The river fell and Donev put Sternberg at risk. Sternberg called for his remaining chips.

Donev turned up and Sternberg stood up, thinking he was scooped. He wanted to muck his hand, but the dealer rolled it over to comply with the all-in showdown rule. It became apparent that Sternberg had , finishing with two pair for a better high.

Sternberg took his seat again and thanked the dealer who saved his tournament life.
