Taylor Paur

After six levels of 100 minutes each, 60 players have made it through to Day 4 of Event #24: $2,620 THE MARATHON No-Limit Hold’em. The five-day tournament trudges on, as it shed another sizable portion of the 246 players that started the day. When chips were bagged for the night, it was WSOP bracelet winner Taylor Paur who dominated his tables during the later levels. Paur bagged 2,958,000 in chips, which makes him the chipleader by a wide margin.

Trailing him by almost 100 big blinds is Anton Morgenstern with 1,775,000 and Mark Sleet with 1,550,000. Closing out the top five are Hiep Doan and Jonas Mackoff with 1,442,000 and 1,356,000 in chips, respectively.

There is no shortage of notable players to follow for Day 4 though as players like Michael Addamo (1,096,000), Matt Affleck (884,000), Julien Sitbon (868,000), WSOP Main Event Champions Martin Jacobson (811,000) and Scotty Nguyen (483,000), 888poker ambassador Chris Moorman (445,000), Stoyan Obreshkov (769,000), Cate Hall (574,000) and Martin Staszko (516,000) all made it through to the penultimate day.

Unfortunately, not everyone managed to bag their chips at the end of the day. Even though money was already locked up, some of the players that would have hoped to cash more in the end included Sam Cohen, JP Kelly, Marvin Rettenmaier, Govert Metaal, Kristen Bicknell, Pierre Merlin, David Peters, Andre Akkari, Jesse Sylvia, Ryan Riess, and Chance Kornuth.

The 60 remaining players will return at noon local time on Thursday, June 14, to play seven 100-minute levels. There will be a 15-minute break after each level with a 60-minute dinner after the fourth level. When the players return, they will play with a small blind of 6,000, big blind of 12,000 and a running ante of 2,000.

Make sure to come back to the PokerNews updates as the live reporting team will be there from the starting line to see who will make a deep run!

• Level 18: 5,000-10,000, 2,000 ante

The 60 remaining players bagged their chips and a full chipcount and a recap are going to follow.

Deyra Doubles Up

• Level 18: 5,000-10,000, 2,000 ante

With already more than 200,000 in the middle, Michael Addamo checked on a {3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board and Deyra pushed all in for 160,000. Addamo ended up calling and the players tabled their cards:

Ivan Deyra: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Michael Addamo: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}

Deyra had the dominating hand and doubled up after the river was the {2-Hearts}.

Five More Hands

• Level 18: 5,000-10,000, 2,000 ante

With ten minutes left in the last level for today, the tournament clock has been stopped. The players need to play five more hands before they can bag and tag their chips for Day 4 tomorrow, Thursday, June 14.

Doan Rivers Sitbon

• Level 18: 5,000-10,000, 2,000 ante

On a board showing {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}, after two players checked, Julien Sitbon bet 116,000 and only Hiep Doan called.

The river was a {a-Diamonds} and Doan checked once more. Sitbon bet 100,000 and Doan called, showing {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for a running two pair. Sitbon mucked {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for an inferior two pair and is now down to 600,000.

Abdellatif Wins Some of Staszko

• Level 18: 5,000-10,000, 2,000 ante

Martin Staszko raised to 23,000 from middle position and Jonathan Abdellatif called in the hijack.

The flop came {j-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Clubs}, Staszko check-called the 37,000 bet of Abdellatif.

They both checked through the {q-Diamonds} on the turn to the {a-Clubs} on the river. Staszko checked for the last time. Abdellatif bet 140,000 which seem to bewilder Staszko. Staszko kept looking at the board and Abdellatif. Abdellatif just kept staring in front of him. Staszko folded in the end but even while Abdellatif was stacking up his chips, Staszko kept looking over to him.
