The Last Level Before Dinner

Webjoker • Level 17: 2,000-4,000, 500 ante

The blinds are getting bigger and bigger now; 2,000/4,000 with a 500 ante.

Drew Busts Metaal

Govert Metaal
Govert Metaal

Govert Metaal was getting a bit short ant took matters into his own hands by squeezing all in from the big blind. Daniel "Danny" Drew, who had opened the pot from the hijack position, reshoved all in which forced out Brent Becker who had initially called.

And thus a showdown was at hand, with Metaal showing the inferior {A-Spades}{7-Spades} to Drew's {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. Metaal got up from his seat but seemed still hopeful he would hit something to stay alive. The {3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs} on the flop gave him some hope for a backdoor straight or flush but the {3-Diamonds} on the turn didn't help. All that was left was the river and all that Metaal had left to hope for were the three aces left in the deck. The {4-Diamonds} on the river was a complete blank though and Metaal made his way to the pay-out.

Will the European High Roller make his way to the $25,000 6-max?

Treccarichi Doubles

Webjoker • Level 16: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante

The button opened to 6,000 and Walter Treccarichi shoved from the small blind for 68,500 total. As soon as the big blind had folded, the player on the button immediately called. The button did rightfully so as he showed {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} which was superior to Treccarichi's {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

Untill the turn the board did not get that scary, though Treccarichi picked up a gutshot, but the river ace would hurt: {5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} | {10-Diamonds} | {A-Diamonds}. The player on the button has to continue short, while Treccarichi has some room to maneuverer again.

Gathy Doubles Through Lo

Webjoker • Level 16: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante

Not long a go we wrote about a small pot Michael Gathy lost to Yun Lo. This time the pot was a lot bigger, and this time Gathy was the won winning. It was a pre flop all in but we're unsure of the exact action. All that is important is that Gathy was the proud owner of {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} while his neighbor had the pair just below that: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. The cards on the table would come no higher than a ten and that secured Gathy the double up: {4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} | {6-Diamonds} | {10-Spades}.

Newhouse Bluffs

Webjoker • Level 16: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante

There was already a little over 18,000 in the middle by the time we caught the action over on table Purple 441. The flop was {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Barney Boatman checked from the big blind. Lily Newhouse made a 8,500 bet but that wasn't enough for the player in the cut off position. He made it 19,000 and Boatman folded. Newhouse made the call though and they went to the turn: {10-Spades}. Both players checked and the {3-Hearts} completed the board. Newhouse bet 22,000 and was called. Newhouse tabled {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and was caught bluffing, her opponent showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and took down the pot.

Metaal 's Check Raise Fails

Webjoker • Level 16: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante

On a {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop we saw Govert Metaal checking from the big blind. His opponent, who was acting out of the hijack position, made a 5,500 bet. Metaal cut out 15,000 and moved it forward. The player in the hijack made the call and the dealer burned and turned the {6-Hearts}. Metaal knocked on the table and folded without much hesitation to his opponents 17,000 bet.

Lo and Gathy Tangle

Webjoker • Level 16: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante

It was just a small pot, but you could feel the tension on Michael Gathy's side. Gathy, who started the day third in chips, opened the button to 6,000. Yun Lo, who started as the chipleader, made the call and the big blind came along to see a flop as well.

Lo and the big blind checked to Gathy who made a 9,000 continuation-bet with about 60,000 behind. Lo didn't hesitate for to long before bumping the action to 25,000 by tossing in five orange 5,000 chips. The big blind folded immediately and Gathy followed his lead after two minutes of tanking.

De Meulder Busted

Webjoker • Level 16: 1,500-3,000, 500 ante
Matthias De Meulder
Matthias De Meulder

We missed the precise action pre flop but we're pretty sure De Meulder shoved all in from the cut off over a late position raise. "You have a pair" asked De Meulder with a curious voice showing his {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. His opponent shook his had, but his {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} would soon make one. The flop was king high and by the time the dealer had put out the river, De Meulder already had lost hope of a double-up: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{4-Spades} | {J-Diamonds} | {7-Hearts}.
