Event #2: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em (Eight Handed)

Ivey and Duhamel Clash

Webjoker • Level 5: 100-200, 25 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Ivey and Duhamel, who played more than once against each other in the past, faced off again just now. In a button (Duhamel) versus small blind (Ivey) situation they worked with a {2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} | {9-Diamonds} | {9-Spades} board. Ivey had checked and Duhamel carefully selected four yellow 1,000 chips and threw them in the middle under while announcing that he wanted to bet 3,600. Now it was on Ivey who, uncharacteristically we might say, took minutes of tanking. He eventually folded and Duhamel mucked with a sigh of relief.

Waxman vs. Raghavan

[user101598] • Level 5: 100-200, 25 ante

Ravi Raghavan checked to Matt Waxman on a flop of {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

"It's on me?" Waxman asked, when the dealer motioned in his direction. "Seven."

He splashed forward 700, and Raghavan immediately called.

"Easy, Ravi," Waxman told him.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds}, and Raghavan opted to lead out, tossing forward 1,200. Waxman tanked for a bit, then raised to 3,700. Raghavan called.

The {3-Spades} completed the board, Raghavan checked, and Waxman plopped 6,600 in front of him. Raghavan tanked for longer than he had on any other street, then folded.

With the board reading {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, Ty Reiman and an opponent go back and forth before Reiman's opponent winds up all in for about 17,000 with {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Reiman was ahead with {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and dodged his opponent's outs as the {K-Diamonds} river locked up the pot for him.

Silverman Five-Bets All In

Webjoker • Level 5: 100-200, 25 ante

Steven Silverman opened under-the-gun and received a call from Phil Hellmuth. The player in the cutoff 3-bet to 1,450 but that was not the end of it at all. John Racener in the small blind made the 4-bet to 3,400 with about 10,000 behind. The big blind quickly folded but Silverman had other plans. He eyed the stacks of the aggressors behind him and eventually announced all in for about 11,500 total.

Hellmuth snap folded and, after giving it some thoughts, the cutoff also folded. Racener took ten seconds tops and then also threw his hand in the muck. Silverman gained a lot of chips and didn't even have to show his hand for it.

The dealer fanned {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, Little checked, and Stein continued for 4,600. Little immediately folded, and Stein raked in the pot.

Polychronopoulos Busts

[user139916] • Level 5: 100-200, 25 ante

Athanasios Polychronopoulos was all in for about 7,000 after the turn of an {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board with {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. His opponent tabled {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, giving both players outs to win the pot outright. Unfortunately for Polychronopoulos, the {J-Hearts} river fell to give his opponent a flush.
