Demidov and Stammen

In 2008, Ivan Demidov, announced himself on the world scene by finishing 2nd to Peter Eastgate, in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, earning $5,809,595, and 3rd in the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event, earning $608,995. His noticeable performances have been scant since then, including only one cash in a WSOP event (in 2009), so he will be hoping for better things today. Demidov has gotten off to a fine start and has 6,600 in chips.

Sharing a table with Demidov is WSOP bracelet holder Keven Stammen. Stammen Won Event #13: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em for $506,786, back in 2009. Here is Stammen losing some change to another man with fine WSOP form - Adam Geyer.

Stammen opened up the action with a 125 bet from early position and three players called before Geyer squeezed out a 700 shove from the small blind. Stammen isolated with a 1,525 bet and the pair were heads-up with Geyer at risk of elimination.

Geyer{J-Spades} {10-Spades}
Stammen{A-Clubs} {7-Spades}

The flop of {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {8-Clubs} handing Geyer a straight draw and it completed on the {9-Diamonds} turn. The river {5-Hearts} not changing a thing and Geyer had a lifeline.
