Chino Rheem Slays His Monster

When Chris Roth doubled up earlier on Chino Rheem said he had created a monster. Well Rheem has just slayed that monster and now has 429,000 and the chip lead. We didn't see the hand; just Roth leaving the table and the chips being pushed towards the grinning genius.

Good Call by Dutch Boyd

• Level 15: 1,500-3,000, 0 ante

Jaspal Brar raised to 7,500 on the button and Dutch Boyd called in the big blind. The action checked through to the turn on a board of {J-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}. It was Brar who started the betting off when he made it 9,000 on the turn and Boyd took his time before calling. The final card was the {4-Clubs} and once more it was Boyd trying to get to showdown and Brar trying his best not too. He bet 18,500 this time and Boyd made the call.

"Good call," said Brar who mucked his hand.

Boyd turned over {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} to win the hand. Brar was down to 107,000 and Boyd was up to 175,000.

Dutch Boyd: One of the Family

With 2 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, 20 WSOP cashes and over $1 million in WSOP earnings Dutch Boyd is like one of the family around here. Here he is moving over the century mark with 44 players remaining between him and his third piece of gold.

We joined the action with around 27,000 lying in the pot and two players in the hand (the big blind and Dutch Boyd in the cutoff). The flop was {K-Hearts} {K-Spades} {5-Clubs} and the big blind moved all-in for around a pot-sized bet and Boyd made the call.

Boyd{K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {4-Hearts}
Big Blind{Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {8-Spades} {5-Hearts}

So Boyd had flopped good and it stayed that way until the bitter end. The turn {8-Hearts} and river {7-Clubs} confirming Boyd's rise to prominence.
