Chartier Beats Sowers

From the cutoff seat, Mike Sowers raised to 2,200. Sam Chartier called on the button and Kristijonas Andrulis called from the big blind. The flop came down paired with the {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} falling and action checked to Sowers. He bet 4,200 and Chartier called. Andrulis folded.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and the two remaining players in the hand checked. They also checked the {Q-Spades} on the river.

Sowers tabled the {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}, but was beaten by the {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for Chartier.

Yunis Busts Boyd

Carlos Boyd moved all in for his last 17,400 with the board reading {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and about 24,000 sitting in the middle. Nick Yunis tank-called, and the hands were opened.

Yunis: {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Boyd: {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Boyd held a monster draw, but the river was a black ten, eliminating him from the tournament.

From under the gun, Lee Markholt raised to 2,300. Bill Perkins called from the next seat and then Josh Bergman reraised to 6,800 from the hijack seat. Action folded back to Markholt and he called. Perkins also called.

The flop came down {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} and action checked to Bergman. He fired 7,500 and Markholt folded. Perkins came along to see the turn, though, calling right away.

The {3-Hearts} landed on fourth street and Perkins quickly checked. Bergman took his time and bet 13,500. Right away, Perkins called. After he called, Perkins checked in the dark and the dealer then dealt the {2-Hearts} on the river. Bergman took his time and counted out his stack — 49,600. He then shipped it all in. Right away, Perkins announced a fold and tossed his hand into the muck.

The Four-Card Flop

[user101598] • Level 7: 400-800, 100 ante
The four-card flop.
The four-card flop.

Elio Fox called a four-bet from Harrison Gimbel preflop, and the flop fell {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

Or so we thought.

Before there was any action, Kevin MacPhee noticed that there was a fourth card under the {6-Diamonds}. The dealer slid the card down, and revealed the hidden card - the {9-Clubs}. A floor person was called to the table, and upon arrival they informed the dealer that all four cards are to be washed, and then a random card will be drawn, and mucked.

"Wait," Tom Marchese piped up. "That's the rule?"

The floor person nodded, washed the cards, and pulled out the {6-Clubs}. Harrison Gimbel led out, and Elio Fox quickly folded.

"I've never seen that before," Gimbel admitted after the hand.

Straight for Fox

On the {a-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop, Elio Fox checked and Kevin MacPhee bet 3,400. After Tom Marchese called behind, Fox called to see the {4-Spades} land on the turn. There, action checked around to see the {A-Clubs} land on the river and pair the board. Again, action checked around.

Fox tabled the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for a straight to beat MacPhee's {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Marchese mucked his hand and Fox won the pot.
