Cantu in at the Last

[user76023] • Level 4: 100-200, 25 ante

Brandon Cantu is a last minute arrival for Day 1A joining Paul Berende's table in the far corner of the room, the double-bracelet winner has previously spoken about his desire to win an EPT and complete poker's "Triple Crown". Cantu had his deepest run at the EPT in Vilamoura a year or so ago and was chip leader late on in that event - one eventually won by Toby Lewis, can he improve on his 36th place finish this time?

Vamplew and Nitsche

Nitsche's roomie!
Nitsche's roomie!

Even when you have won an EPT title you still have to be conservative with your spending and that's why David Vamplew is sharing a room with Dominik Nitsche. The cleaners must have their work cut out wading through Nitsche's clothes strewn across the floor, but at least they can use Vamplews broomstick to clear the mess up.

The two are now side-by-side on table four and here is some action featuring Vamps.

Vamplew raised to 500 in early position, Iulian Georgian Ruxandescu called in middle position as did the big blind. The flop was {7-Clubs} {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} and the big blind checked to Vamplew who bet 750. Ruxandescu was next to act and he made the call before the big blind folded his hand. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Vamplew bet 1,375 and stared at Ruxandescu who thought for a while before raising. Vamplew's hand was in the muck quicker than it took us to count out the size of the raise.

Vamplew won't be worrying though, his 42,000 is still a decent wedge and at least it's more than his roomate has got!

Leaving a Marc

[user76023] • Level 4: 100-200, 25 ante

Miroslav Rizov raised Marco Leonzio's 3.650 bet on the turn of a {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} board to 7,650 but the Italian made the call to see the {9-Clubs} river, Leonzio checked and Rizov checked behind, the Bulgarian quickly folding when Leonzio tabled {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a full house.

Karr And Mothes Both Flop A Piece

McLean Karr raised from the hijack seat and Pierre Chris Mothes three-bet to 1,400 in the big blind and Karr made the call. The flop was {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and this time Mothes bet 2,075 and Karr called. The final card to grace the felt was the {3-Spades} and Mothes pot-controlled with a 5,275 check-call and took down the hand at showdown.

Militia Man

[user76023] • Level 3: 100-200, 0 ante

Miltiadis Kyriakides opened to 425 from early position before quickly calling a reraise from Belgian Pieter Schollaert. Both players checked the {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop before Kyriakides fired out bets of 1,500 on the {A-Spades} turn and 4,000 on the {K-Spades} river. Schollaert called the first bet but let out a deep sigh and folded to the second, Kyriakides wasting little time in flipping {8-Spades}{5-Spades} for nothing much at all.

Even Moor

Alexios Panagiotis Zervos opened to 450 and Lars Garp made the call before PokerStars qualifier Andras Kovacs reraised to 1,400 a couple of seats down. So far, pretty standard, but here is where it gets interesting; Chris Moorman flat-called the three-bet from the small blind and Zervos elected to fold wihle Garp closed the action by also making the call.

The flop was a dry-as-a-bone {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and it was checked to Kovacs who bet 2,100. Moorman made the call and Garp quickly folded. Both players then checked the {8-Clubs} turn, Moorman then thought for about two minutes before checking the river and Kovacs followed suit.

Moorman flipped {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} - good enough for the pot, he's up to 40,000.
