Monster Pot For Heinecker; Esfandiari Back To Earth

[user20283] • Level 9: 1,000-2,000, 300 ante

Antonio Esfandiari had been leading since the very first hand of play but his big stack was just shattered by Niklas Heinecker. Heinecker started of the action with a raise to 4,000 and Esfandiari three-bet to 10,500. Heinecker put in a four-bet to 22,500 and Esfandiari made the call.

The flop brought out {8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and Heinecker, who was first to act, shoved all in for a staggering 88,200 chips. This big overshove caught Esfandiari of guard and he went into the tank for several minutes.

"Shall I hero call?" Esfandiari asked himself, or the table, as he thought about it some more. Esfandiari expressed that it was okay for any player to call the clock on him, but everyone remained silent. The One Drop winner tried to get a response out of Heinecker who sat motionless throughout this whole show. Even waving his hand in front of Heinecker's face had no effect and finally Esfandiari kissed his chips goodbye as he put in the call.

Heinecker: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Esfandiari: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}, {J-Clubs} and Heinecker gave himself a huge double up. He's now the big chip leader while Esfandiari was knocked down to around 55,000 chips.
