"I'm So Curious What You Have"

[user153638]

With 13,000 in the pot and a board reading {5-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}, Vanessa Selbst checked from the hijack and opened the door for Gus Hansen to bet 5,100 from the cutoff. Selbst then woke up with a check-raise to 14,600, and Hansen tanked for a solid five minutes.

During that time he leaned back in his chair, took a drink of his water, and did a funky wavy stretch with his arms. Eventually he tossed in a call, and then tanked once again when Selbst bet 16,700 on the {10-Clubs} turn. A few minutes passed before Hansen once again called, and then Selbst slowed down with a check on the {5-Clubs} river.

Hansen took his time before acting, and added: "I'm so curious what you have." He then checked and watched Selbst showdown the {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} before taking down the pot with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

Winfred Yu opened for 2,500 under the gun and Martin Finger defended from the big blind. The {8-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop saw Finger check-call a bet of 3,500, and then he did the same for 5,500 on the {3-Clubs} turn. When the {8-Diamonds} peeled off on the river, Finger checked for a third time, and then he folded when Yu bet 9,000.

One for Hansen

[user153638]

Chris Lee opened for 2,500 under the gun and received a call from Gus Hansen on the button. The small blind folded, and then Mike Watson opted for a three-bet to 10,000. Lee quickly folded, Hansen tossed in a call, and it was heads-up action to the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop.

Watson checked, Hansen bet 6,600, and after a call was made, the dealer burned and turned the {9-Diamonds}. Watson checked for a second time, and Hansen kept the pressure on with a bet of 13,200. Watson thought long and hard, but eventually he slid his cards to the dealer.

Shak Busts Robl In Big Hand During Break

[user68268]

Andrew Robl

The last hand before the break was a long one that ran several minutes into the break. It all started when Andrew Robl raised to 3,000 from under the gun, and Masa Kagawa called from the cutoff seat. In the small blind, Dan Shak announced that he was all in, having forgotten that the action preflop is only pot-limit. The dealer informed Shak he could only raise the pot to 13,000. Shak was corrected and made it 13,000 to go.

Action got back to Robl, and he took a minute before calling. Kagawa folded.

The flop came down {9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, and Shak announced that he was all in for a little under 100,000. Robl had slightly less than Shak, but the stacks were very close to even. After several long minutes in the tank, Robl made the call.

Shak tabled the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} for just ace-king high. Robl had the best of it, flopping two pair with the {10-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The turn delivered the {A-Diamonds} to put Shak in front. The river completed the board with the {4-Diamonds}, and that was it. Shak had won the hand and eliminated Robl as the first to go.
