Global Poker Awards werden am 5. April vergeben
Der Global Poker Index (GPI) und Poker Central haben bekanntgegeben, dass die Global Poker Awards im PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas am 5. April stattfinden und live auf PokerGO übertragen werden. PokerStars ist Sponsor dieser Awards.
Global Poker Awards 2018
Die Veranstaltung vereint die American Poker Awards und European Poker Awards der GPI zu einer Zeremonie, bei der die besten Pokerspieler, Branchenführer und Medienvertreter der Branche ausgezeichnet werden.
"Unsere globalen Initiativen hinter den European Poker Awards und den American Poker Awards kommen ab diesem Jahr zusammen", sagte GPI-Präsident Eric Danis. "Wir freuen uns, den besten Spielern der Pokerwelt und den prominentesten Leuten der Branche in einem beispiellosen Ausmaß Anerkennung zu zollen."
Es sind insgesamt zwanzig Auszeichnungen vorgesehen, die später bekannt gegeben werden. Eine Nominierungsjury wählt die Finalisten in jeder Kategorie, bevor eine Jury aus Vertretern der Branche die Gewinner auswählt.
Poker Central ist verständlicherweise begeistert von seiner Teilnahme an den ersten Global Poker Awards.

Geschichte der European Poker Awards
Die European Poker Awards blicken auf eine lange und geschichtsträchtige 15-jährige Geschichte zurück, die bis ins Jahr 2001 zurückreicht, wobei die letzte Zeremonie im Jahr 2016 stattfand und Leistungen von 2015 auszeichnet.
Im letzten Jahr der Zeremonie im Jahr 2015 erhielt Fedor Holz die GPI Player of the Year Auszeichnung und Liv Boeree wurde als GPI Female Player of the Year geehrt. Remko Rinkema, der 2017 einen American Poker Award gewann, wurde bei den European Poker Awards 2015 als Medienperson des Jahres geehrt.
Adrian Mateos Diaz holte seinen vierten European Poker Award im Jahr 2015, als er die Tournament Performance of the Year gewann.
