Trappy Cantu on the Climb, Slips a Little

Brandon Cantu took a small pot off Michael Mizrachi with a ten-low.
Cantu made a wheel in a three-bet pot with Mizrachi. They both drew one and Cantu checked to Mizrachi who failed to fall into the trap and checked behind.
Mizrachi four-bet to 60,000 to take a pot down. Lindgren had opened to 8,000 before Cantu three-bet to 60,000. Both players folded.

Wright's Shove Works

Erick Lindgren was under the gun and started off by raising it up to 8,000. Brandon Cantu three-bet to 26,000 and Michael Mizrachi made the call from the button. Larry Wright was in the big blind and he decided to move all in for his final 87,600 chips.

None of his opponents made the call giving Wright his first substantial pot of the day.

Cantu Snaps Off Lichtenberger's Bluff

From the cutoff Andrew Lichtenberger raised it up to 8,000, and it got folded to Brandon Cantu who was in the big blind. He made the call.

Cantu took one card, Lichtenberger needed two.

Cantu threw out a 20,000 chip bet. Lichtenberger tanked for a bit before counting out a raise to 80,000. As soon as the chips hit the felt Cantu announced call.

"You got it," Lichtenberger said after which Cantu showed his {10-} {9-} {8-} {5-} {4-} . Cantu gets himself back up to second place while Lichtenberger drops a lot of chips.

Lindgren Getting Low

Erick Lindgren is the short stack now after losing two pots in a row.

First up he bet into Larry Wright after he drew a pair. Wright called with {10-} {9-} {5-} {4-} {3-} .

The very next hand he three-bet to 32,000 from the big blind after Michael Mizrachi opened to 7,200 from the hijack seat. Mizrachi called and both stood pat.

Lindgren then led out for 43,000 and Mizrachi called. "Jack," said Lindgren.

It was no good though as Mizrachi opened the winning {10-} {9-} {7-} {4-} {2-} .

Rep Porter Eliminated in 6th Place ($14,078)

Rep Porter started the day second in chips, but that was no guarantee for the big money as he just got eliminated by Andrew Lichtenberger.

The action started with a raise from Lichtenberger who was under the gun. He made it 8,000 to go after which Porter three-bet from the button to 28,000. Brandon Cantu and Michael Mizrachi gave up their blinds, and it was back on Lichtenberger. After a good ten seconds he declared himself to be all in. Porter had to make a decision for his tournament life, and folding would leave him with just 86,000 chips. After a while he made the call.

Both players stood pat.

Lichtenberger turned over {8-} {6-} {5-} {4-} {3-} , and had started with a huge hand. Porter was extremely disappointed as his {9-} {7-} {6-} {5-} {2-} were no good. We are down to five players and Andrew Lichtenberger is now in second place behind Michael Mizrachi

The Mizrachi Show Continues

We asked the question in the opening post: Who can stop Brandon Cantu?

The answer might be Michael Mizrachi. He has position on the start of day chip leader and just won a pot off him to extend his lead.

Cantu raised to 6,000 from the hijack and called when Mizrachi three-bet to 16,000 from the next seat. Cantu drew one as Mizrachi stood pat, before Cantu check-called a large 40,000 bet.

Mizrachi opened {9-} {8-} {6-} {5-} {4-} for a ninety-eight. Cantu mucked.

Mizrachi On a Tear, Grabs Chip Lead

We have only played seven hands at the final table, and so far Michael Mizrachi has won six of those. He just won the biggest pot of the day, the action went down as following.

Rep Porter raised from the button to 8,000, after which Brandon Cantu opted to three-bet to 25,000 from the small blind. Michael Mizrachi was in the big blind, and it didn't take long for him to make the call. Porter called as well giving us three-way action after the draw.

Cantu and Mizrachi both took one card, Porter stood pat.

Cantu checked to Mizrachi who fired out a big 60,000 chip bet. It took Porter only five seconds to make up his mind, and he called. Cantu gave it a little time but eventually decided to release his hand.

Mizrachi showed {9-} {6-} {5-} {4-} {3-} and Porter mucked his cards in disgust. Mizrachi has taken over the chip lead and looks to hammer his opponents hard from the start.

Ryan Tepen Eliminated in 7th Place ($10,318)

Ryan Tepen - 7th place

The second hand of this final table saw the elimination of Ryan Tepen. Michael Mizrachi raised to 7,000 from the cut-off and made a quick call when Tepen shoved from the big blind for around 50,000.

Tepen stood pat as Mizrachi broke the {j-Hearts} (it flipped over).

Tepen opened {q-} {10-} {8-} {5-} {3-} . You could see Mizrachi's heart sink as he opened {9-} {8-} {6-} {4-} meaning he already had a winning hand. This is Mizrachi though and he drew {j-Clubs} to lock the hand up.

Edit: Mizrachi won the next two hands as well for a small advance. A frantic start to this final table had seen Mizrachi involved in every hand so far.

This game is fast and furious, and on the the very first hand of play we saw an interesting pot right away. From the cutoff Michael Mizrachi raised it up to 7,000 and Andrew Lichtenberger made the call from the button. Erik Lindgren was in the big blind and called as well.

Lindgren took one card, Mizrachi two and Lichtenberger one.

The action was checked to Lichtenberger who bet 21,000, and Lindgren called.

Lichtenberger turned over {10-} {5-} {4-} {3-} {2-} and took down the first pot of the day.
