Straight for Nguyen

Under the gun, Khoa Nguyen raised to 330,000. Christopher Moore called from the big blind and the flop came down all black. It was {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {K-Hearts} on the turn. Moore checked, Nguyen bet 410,000 and Moore called.

The river completed the board with the {5-Spades} and Moore checked again. Nguyen fired 510,000 and Moore folded. Nguyen showed the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}.

Khoa Nguyen 17,715,000 550,000 pos
Christopher Moore 11,340,000 -20,000 neg

"More Lamb"

So said Mickey, our intrepid reporter, as though he were requesting another serving with his dinner. What he was referring to, though, was another hand in which Ben Lamb was found continuing his late night feast upon the outer Table 334.

In this one, Andrew Hinrichsen opened for 350,000 from the button, and Lamb defended his big blind. Both checked the {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop, then Lamb led out for 400,000 following the {7-Spades} turn. Hinrichsen called the bet.

The river was the {Q-Clubs} and this time Lamb led for 720,000. Hinrichsen thought for a while, then pushed his cards away.

Lamb now has 14.9 million, while Hinrichsen slips to 3.75 million.

Holden Finds a Queen to Double

Samuel Holden

From the button, Samuel Holden raised to 320,000. Gregory Kaplan reraised all in from the big blind and Holden called for less to put himself at risk for 2.65 million.

Holden: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Kaplan: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Holden spiked a queen to double up. Kaplan dropped back to 3.825 million in chips.

Samuel Holden 5,560,000 2,530,000 pos
Gregory Kaplan 3,825,000 -3,210,000 neg

Nothing Meek About Lamb

Tense moments on the outer table just now, and Ben Lamb, sitting in Seat 5, was right in the middle of it.

Lamb opened for 350,000 from middle position, and Eoghan O'Dea reraised to 800,000 from the button. Lamb called. The flop came {J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{A-Hearts}. Lamb checked, O'Dea bet 800,000 again, and Lamb called. The turn was the {10-Spades}. Again Lamb check-called O'Dea's bet, this time for 1.7 million.

The river then brought the {Q-Spades} and an alteration to the established sequence. Lamb studied for some time, then carefully pushed out two huge 40-chip high towers of greens, topped by several lavenders and a few more greens -- a (literally) towering bet of 2.7 million.

O'Dea went into the tank, watching Lamb as he looked down and away, riffling his chips. Finally, after at least three minutes, O'Dea folded.

Lamb is up around 14 million now, while O'Dea has 9.6 million.

Three-Bet from Mamaliadis

From the hijack seat, Khoa Nguyen raised to 330,000. Konstantinos Mamaliadis reraised to 680,000 from the cutoff seat and everyone, including Nguyen, folded.

Hewitt Takes Huge Chunk Out of Giannetti

John Hewitt
John Hewitt

John Hewitt opened to 350,000, and the action folded to Matt Giannetti who called on the button. The flop fell {4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades}, and Hewitt led for 430,000. Giannetti called, and the turn was the {6-Spades}. Hewitt led again - this time for 680,000 - and Giannetti again called.

The river was the {a-Hearts}, and Hewitt fired a third bullet worth 1.23 million. Giannetti tanked for a bit, then raised to 4 million straight. Hewitt looked like he was going to be ill. He put his head in his hands, and sat silently for the better part of five minutes. Finally, he sheepishly said call, turning over {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a set of sixes. Giannetti mucked, and Hewitt raked in the massive pot.

Chipcounts
John Hewitt 14,180,000 5,880,000 pos
Matt Giannetti 10,545,000 -5,460,000 neg

Aggression for Nguyen Pays Off

From the cutoff seat, Christopher Moore raised to 330,000. Khoa Nguyen reraised to 875,000 from the button and action folded back to Moore. He made the call and the flop came down {10-Hearts}{(d}{3-Clubs}. Moore checked the flop and Nguyen fired 1.3 million. Moore tanked for a little bit and then folded his hand.

Chipcounts
Khoa Nguyen 17,165,000 1,255,000 pos
Christopher Moore 11,360,000 -1,315,000 neg

Bonding's Turn to Shove

From middle position, Lars Bonding open-shoved all in for 3.42 million. Everyone folded and Bonding won the pot.

Chipcounts
Lars Bonding 3,840,000 420,000 pos
