Alekhin Gets First Double of the Day

Action folded around to Stanislav Alekhin in the small blind who moved all in for 750,000. Joshua Evans was in the big blind and didn't think too long before deciding to call.

Alekhin: {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Evans: {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} giving Alekhin a pair of nines but also giving Evans a gutshot straight draw. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river was the {7-Spades} and Alekhin doubled his stack to 1,500,000. After the hand Evans was only left with 530,000.

Max Action

Max Lykov hasn't wasted much time in getting involved since arriving slightly late. Harald Olsen raised to 100,000 and Lykov made it 255,000 from the small blind but then snap folded when Olsen reraised to 1.1 million.

The next hand saw Joshua Evans make it 130,000 from UTG only to fold when Lykov made it 255,000 on the button.

Finally Lykov raised to 100,000 and Olsen called to see a {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop. Olsen led out for 135,000 but snap-folded when Lykov made it 325,000.

Michaelo Making Moves

Sebastien Roy raised to 135,000 from early position and action folded around to Dror Michaelo in the big blind who called. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and both players checked. When the {5-Hearts} came on the turn Michaelo checked again and Roy put out a bet of 125,000. Michaelo then thought for a minute before announcing he was all in. Michaelo had Roy covered so if Roy called he would be putting his tournament life on the line. Roy looked pained over the decision but eventually decided to fold.

Lykov Arrives

A slightly sheepish Max Lykov has now arrived to the final table.

Olsen Doesn't Mess Around

Harald Olsen raised to 100,000 from middle position and Dror Michaelo was the only caller on the button. The flop was {Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}, fairly dry looking and Olsen led out for 135,000. Michaelo quickly raised to 350,000 and Olsen thought briefly before casually shoving all his chips in the middle.

Michaelo sat there, staring straight forward and blinked a few times before tapping the table and mucking his hand.

Chipcounts
Dror Michaelo 1,580,000 -400,000 neg
Harald Olsen 1,425,000 400,000 pos

Zhang Takes the First Pot of the Day

On the first hand Joshua Evans raised to 130,000 and action folded to Ren Ho Zhang who moved all in. Evans deliberated for a couple of minutes before eventually folding his hand.

Cards Are in the Air

Play at the final table has begun, but our chipleader Max Lykov is noticeably absent. We aren't sure as to the reason for his tardyness but we'll be sure to let you know when he arrives.
